Madonna Bannerman had a dream to bring the Hunter Valley to the Coffs Coast six years ago. “Being from Coffs Harbour originally, I have always held a special place in my heart for this beautiful region”, she says. After purchasing the property in 2013, with the help of close family, friends and the supportive community she transformed Two Tails Winery into the masterpiece it is today. “Our main goal was to modernise, put in a restaurant and establish a really stylish venue”.

Local and international visitors flock to the vineyard to sample the diverse array of locally produced wines. Which are made from grapes grown on in the picturesque vineyard. The boutique winery is sustained through summer temperatures with carefully selected grape varieties. Such as Chambourcin and Jacquez grape varieties that benefit from the Coffs Coast climate.

Guests have the opportunity to deepen their winery experience through daily cellar door tastings. “There’s such an intricate process to wine-making and we love to share our stories and history with visitors.” With more than 15 different wines to sample at the cellar door, visitors are encouraged to relax, enjoy the views. Winning multiple awards, Two Tails went from strength to strength
As Madonna’s passion and persistence sees her vineyard go from strength to strength, the recognition for her hard work has started to flood in. In 2018, Two Tails Wines and Velvets Restaurant won Regional Business of the Year, the Local Producers Award and the Small Business Award for both Coffs Harbour and the Mid North Coast region. In 2019, her Chefs won Gold at the Regional Nestle Golden Chef Hat Competition.
Modern Spanish Tapas-style Menu at Velvets Restaurant
With a menu showcasing the abundance of fresh local produce their ‘paddock to plate’ focus shines through. “Our food is truly unique for the region,” Madonna says, ”and supporting local producers is very important to us.” The modern Spanish tapas-style menu in Velvets Restaurant features seafood from the Coffs Harbour Fishermen’s Coop and beef from Russell Crowe’s Nana Glen Farm. Their regular ‘Producers Dinners’ celebrate the bounty of the local food industry and always book out in advance.
