Double Cream Brie Cheesemaking Class – 8 December Emerald Beach
Learn how to make Double Cream Brie at home, the history of Brie, understanding the difference between the variety of white moulded cheeses and how to pair your cheese with wine.
Botanic Garden Discovery Tour – Every 3rd Thursday of the month Coffs Harbour
Learn about the plants and animals in the garden on this introductory tour with a volunteer guide. Gently glide along the main path in the electric buggy under the canopy of the natural forest and through the international planted garden areas. Take a short stroll around the picturesque lake and the Japanese Garden at the far end of the garden before returning to make a short stop with a guided tour of the Glasshouse plants.
Nightlife Wildlife at the Botanic Garden– 1 December Coffs Harbour
Join the volunteer guides of the garden for a magical evening to search for possums, gliders, bats, maybe koala …and other little critters whose eye shine in the dark! This 2km night walk follows paths through natural forests and planted gardens. We pause along the way to learn how the wild creatures live, what they eat and why they make such strange noises in the dark.
Dorrigo Rainforest Aboriginal Cultural Tour – 27 Dec, & 10, 17 24 January 2024 Dorrigo
Bring the whole family to meet Ranger Matt, a local Gumbaynggirr man. He’ll welcome you to country in language that’s been spoken on this land for thousands of years. Ranger Matt will invite you to smell, touch and sometimes even taste seasonal fruits and materials of the rainforest. Throughout the tour, he’ll share his language and culture, which have been part of this landscape for thousands of years. It’s a fantastic opportunity to listen to stories from country, on country.
Dorrigo Kids Nature Play: 5-12 Years – 17 & 24 January 2024 Dorrigo
Join us for a fun tour in Dorrigo National Park, near Coffs Harbour. Kids aged 5 to 12 years can reconnect with nature through play. Bring the kids to enjoy a 1.5 hour ranger-guided tour of seasonally varied discovery, learning and play in the World Heritage-listed Gondwana rainforest at Dorrigo National Park.
