Bellingen is a charming town on the banks of the beautiful Bellinger River, a popular waterway for kayaking and canoeing. The town has a rich architectural heritage, rural charm, bohemian atmosphere, music festivals and thriving cosmopolitan culture and cafe society. The healthy ‘alternate’ dedication to family, community and work-life balance is the strong denominator which unifies the town. One of the most creative communities on the mid north coast, Bellingen is also home to some of the freshest local organic produce available at various produce markets and local stores.
Urunga is popular with boaters, picnickers, swimmers and anglers. The village has a relaxed sea-side atmosphere. The historic Ocean View Hotel, established in 1927, overlooks the Kalang and Bellinger Rivers and provides a gorgeous spot to sit and enjoy the ambience of the coast. The elevated Urunga Boardwalk is a splendid trail, taking you over the estuary where the Bellinger and Kalang rivers meet to a beach and the Pacific Ocean. Beach and rock fishing are popular in Urunga, and golfers can delight in a nine-hole course overlooking the waterways.
