Go Local

While we live in a beautiful part of the world, with the current NSW Government restrictions of a state-wide lockdown, we encourage you to do the right thing – follow the rules, keep yourself and your community safe, and support local businesses where you can.

Coffs Harbour Chamber of Commerce, supported by Coffs Harbour City Council, has initiated the national Go Local First campaign with a Coffs flavour. The directory below will help you find ways to Shop local, Stay local, Play local, Taste local and GO LOCAL FIRST.

Many businesses are currently operating differently to normal, so the best way to keep up-to-date is to check out their website, their social media pages or simply give them a call.

How you can #golocalfirst on the #coffscoast

Give your favourite local business a shout-out on social media  this supports the business and helps others know more about them. Invite your friends and family to ‘like and follow’ the business.

Take a night off cooking and grab a takeaway from one of the many fantastic places to eat and drink around the Coffs Coast. If you’re keen to cook, purchase fresh produce from a local independent retailer or market. Try the TASTE link for more options

If you are not able to visit a business during lockdown, give them a call or check their website for pickup and delivery options. And if you’re going to click and buy online, click on a local business first!

Do it with a friend! Keeping in touch with friends strengthens mental health during tough times. So if you’re heading out and about for some excercise, invite a mate (you can exercise with one person not from your household).

Purchase a Gift Voucher from a local business to use now or in the future. Gift Vouchers are the perfect way to say “thank you” or “I love you”, celebrate a special occasion, or treat yourself. You can even get in early for Christmas!

Look out for your friends, family and neighbours who might be concerned about getting out and about. You can help by shopping for essentials on their behalf or assisting them to shop online at local businesses.

Staycation at home and treat yourself to a short break at a local luxury holiday home, a holiday park on the beach, a cute motel close to the action, or a resort with an indulgent spa package. Click on STAY to see all the options – just because we can’t leave home now, doesn’t mean we can’t plan!

Explore our natural environment with an expert once you are able – try a new activity such as kayaking, snorkelling, zip-lining, stand-up paddleboarding or surfing. Click on the PLAY link to find out more.

Once the stay at home orders lift, be a tourist in your own town! Visit a gallery, walk a heritage trail, take a foodie tour or art class, or embrace your inner child and have heaps of fun at one of our major tourist attractions. Use your Dine & Discover Vouchers and inject these funds into local businesses.

Share the places and moments that make the Coffs Coast special to you through pictures. Everyday moments – a morning beach walk or grabbing a takeaway great coffee – or something special – a delicious restaurant meal delivered to your door or a relaxing bushwalk.
Sharing pics on your socials with #ourplaceisgreat and #coffscoast helps others discover the hidden gems in our beautiful region. Remember to tag the business or location as well. Find out more.
