For the inaugural Coffs Coast Food and Wine Festival, the Mermaid is hosting a lunch to celebrate the enduring persistence of local farmers.
Drawing only from farms affected by the recent floods and storms, this lunch will celebrate the diversity of produce in the region and the gumption of the farmers who produce it.
Settle in on the deck of their whitewash weatherboard cottage or nestle into a table in the garden – this is the perfect opportunity for a long lunch with friends. Modelled on a classic Italian feast, lunch is a range of dishes to share over four courses. Executive chef Rowan Tihema’s menu will feature all of The Mermaid’s signatures – house made focaccia and antipasti, handmade pasta, and 9 hour slow-cooked lamb. You’ll need to save room for dessert too. Ticket includes a drink on arrival and optional wine and beer pairings.
This event is also a Hero Event for Destination North Coast’s Festival of Flavour.
Four courses and drink on arrival
Shaped by the best produce available from local farmers at the time, the menu will be modelled on a traditional Italian feast – a range of antipasti dishes, pasta, secondi and sides, and dessert.
Produce boxes will be available on the day from the farm’s features.
