Our feathery friends, the Wedge-tailed Shearwaters (aka. muttonbirds) arrive at Muttonbird Island island after completing their amazing long-haul flight from winter feeding grounds in South East Asia.
The island has been an active seabird rookery for Wedge-tailed Shearwaters for thousands of years. Rangers will share fascinating stories about the lifecycle and biology of these far-travelled, migratory birds.
Come along to celebrate their arrival on this award-winning evening tour, lead by our Gumbaynggirr Education Ranger who will share the strong and enduring Aboriginal cultural significance for the Gumbaynggirr people here on the Island.
