Celebrate World Poetry Day at your Regional Museum.
The Rime of the Ancient Mariner is the longest major poem by the English poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge, written in 1797–98 and published in 1798 in the first edition of Lyrical Ballads. It relates the experiences of a sailor who has returned from a long sea voyage.
Come and see the enchanting local exhibition Rime of the Ancient Mariner featuring paintings by well known local artist, rugby coach, and literature lover, Geoff Mould.
Celebrated poet John Bennett will be in conversation with Geoff about his life in sport and art, his exhibition, and reflect on the Rime of the Ancient Mariner. Then we will be joined by some local poetic voices as they perform short renditions on the theme of the sea.
Light refreshments will be served.
This is a free event but bookings are requested.
