Summer At Yarrila Arts & Museum

Swell Chasers: Surf Stories from the Mid-North Coast examines our relationship with the ocean and how surfing has left a lasting, salt-stained mark on our region. The exhibition features the boards, shapers, breaks, localisms, underground talent, photographers, writers, surfing icons and people who just like to surf. Interweaving social and cultural history with the work of contemporary artists, Swell Chasers will take you on a journey to the headlands and bays of the Mid-North Coast.

Heading North Mulga’s new exhibition ‘Heading North’ brings funky animals and summer vibes to life on surfboards and fibreglass canvases – a celebration of the laid-back spirit of the Mid North Coast. Known for his unique style of intricate line work & bright colours, Mulga’s art brings to life a world where tropical bearded men run rampant, lions smoke tobacco pipes, tigers wear diamond sunglasses and gorillas rule the world like some kind of funky planet of the apes. To coincide with his exhibition at YAM, Mulga will be creating a new mural at Coffs Central in the Coffs City Centre
