The quaint village of Bellingen’s main streets are an eclectic mix of designer names and arts and crafts outlets. The historic Hammond and Wheatley Emporium is a nineteenth century department store housing jewellery and homewares from all over the world as well as top-class clothing ranges. Make sure you also take a look at the old Butter Factory on Waterfall Way on the approach to Bellingen which offers wood turning, a leather maker, artists studio and other boutique outlets.
The famous monthly Bellingen Markets are also a date to put in your diary. Known as one of Australia’s largest and diverse markets they are staged on the 3rd Saturday of every month and are home to a fantastic range of handmade arts and crafts, local food and fresh produce, massage and alternative therapies with live entertainment for the family.
