Arts and Culture

In a vibrant and varied community like ours, you'd expect to find a range of galleries highlighting our art & craft.

The versatile work of local artists and artisans in wood, metal, glass, ceramics and paint is on display at galleries across the region - while our folk museums chronicle the past through their exhibits of artefacts and photography.

Culturally within the region there is a strong Indian Sikh representation in and around Woolgoolga, the Indigenous Gumbaynngiirr based at Corindi, and more recently the Sudanese community through-out Coffs.  In addition there are many other nationalities, ethnicities and people from around the world who now call Coffs Coast home.  With them they have brought elements of their culture as reflected through dress, dance and art as showcased at many festival, events and exhibitions through out the year.

Cultural Events

A miriad of plays, performances, stage shows, exhibitions, day and week long events and festivals means that there is always cause for celebrations.  The Jetty Memorial Theatre in Coffs Harbour is just one of the arts hubs offering music, comedy, drama and theatre

The arts community of Bellingen hosts the Jazz Festival, Global Festival, Readers and Writers Festival, camp creative, Bello Music Festival and nearby is the Dorrigo Folk and Bluesgrass Festival.

Other key arts and cultural events include Woolgoolga Curryfest, the Buskers Festival, Coast Out, Wintersun and Harmony Day just to name a few.
